last day of pre-school...sob

Kalia's last day of pre-school.
She helped me carry in the orchids we got each of her teachers,
we put a tag on it that said, "Thanks for helping Kalia to bloom".
She has really bloomed and grown in the past two years
at the Pre-School at Kapalua.
I can't believe the little, little baby girl that I first dropped off
and the big girl that is leaving. sob- seriously.

Morning tree climbing in their jammies

Kalia the tree climber

Waiting for the magician and Samantha's Birthday Party.
After getting back from our night camping,
we all took a 2 hour nap and were ready for the party!

I love this shot as Kalia smiles at Maya.

The girls climbed the tree
I got this shot by saying Maya's favorite joke (the one she tells over and over again)
"Knock Knock"
"Who's There"
"Banana"
"Banana Who"
"Treetop"
(lots of laughter- always)

camping: part 1

We decided to take the girls camping again Friday afternoon.
Setting up the tent at our site.

Here's the view of our location.
We did some really fun shell collecting and rock walking,
but didn't bring the camera and it was a walk from our site.

Look- it's me & Erik
I asked Kalia to take this one.

There was a full south swell,
Erik took Kalia out on the boogie board.

life is good

Father's Day at Lei's
Look at Maya's little pudgy fingers- she's still my baby:)
Smoothie=very happy girl

life is good
spectacular day
mommy & daddy got to surf
lots of shells & sticks
life is good

So Kalia has started sleeping in the dark again. She had slept in the dark until maybe about 3 years and then she was afraid of things at night, so we started using a nightlight. 4 nights ago after tossing and turning, she agreed to sleep in the dark. We went camping Friday night and she told me, "Now we don't have to use the lantern at night, because we all sleep in the dark".

this weekend

Saturday we took tutu to the airport. What a great visit!
Thanks Mom, for everything!

That afternoon, we headed to mala to hang with the gorings.

Kapono & Maya

At one point we looked over and Kapono and Maya
were giving kisses to each other!

Our little mermaid

A big hole,
watching kanoa & kapono

Erik was towing Kalia on the boogie board into some little waves
and she was getting pretty worked and going back for more!

What a good daddy- making his Maya a mermaid tail.

Cruising
Look how big Maya looks- she's getting so tall!

FATHER'S DAY 2011

We spent the day as Erik likes- lazy morning.
Playing, cruising, a little ukulele playing.

Then to our new Kapalua spot for fishing, red light- green light,
hide and go seek, treasure finding and a little picnic.

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies! A big Happy Father's Day to
my amazing Dad- we love you so much!!

The Treasure
It's fun to read the book inside and see
who's been there since our last visit.

Erik fished and then a little picnic.

They were "partners" today on this nature walk,
just like at school.

There was also pony rides today.

The walk back- it was passed Maya's
nap time and she was done walking!

Look at us!
Monkey See, Monkey Do!!
