dancing queen

This is the first part to the dancing video. I was having a hard time downloading this first, so I went with the other one. She is very serious about her dancing!

dancing queen

Our little dancing queen. This is actually the second video, she recovered after her fall. She's crazy about this song, you just put it on and she comes running. "Let's dance mommy!"

kalia is going to be a big sister!

We're very excited that Kalia is going to be a big sister! We took her with us for our first ultrasound and she played peek a boo with the baby, since her/his hands were over their face. Kalia's phrase for the week is, "that's so silly"! She wanted us to build a barn for her this morning because she was a horsey. She also needed us to pet and feed her...all day long. Tonight before bed she read us her "BIG/little" book and she actually named every page, it's an easy book, but she had never repeated any of it before. We were pretty impressed. She was also a big girl today at story time, sat next to Ben on the bench and sang all of the songs and got up to do all the moves to the songs. This was a big deal, since she usually wants to just sit in my lap.

trying to catch up with kalia updates

The photo is at Kanoa's 1st birthday party, Kalia giving her "i love you" sign. Her shaka is getting pretty good too. The girl can eat her weight in edamame. Video of Kalia singing her ABC's- some days she can sing the whole thing...almost.

photos from last month

The first photos are from Kalia and Wyatt's joint 2nd birthday party at Launiapoko Beach Park. We had a great day, 2 bouncy castles, BBQ, squirt bottles and there was even a south swell for the parents. When you mention her birthday, Kalia will immediately say "cupcake", I think that was her favorite part. The second two photos are from our moms/keiki group field trip to the Napili Fire Station. Kalia was pretty brave and went into the fire truck with her friend Bianca. Sesame Street Live came later in the month and we had a great time at the show. Kalia sat through the whole thing, although she did get a little tired during the slow songs. When you ask her about the "elmo" show she says "hot dog", because that's what we ate afterwards. She really does take after me and thinks only with her stomach!

Mama, what doing?

I meant to start this blog in June when Kalia turned 2, but we've been sick and a little lazy. Kalia has been talking and singing so much. She really went from a few phrases to talking in some full sentences. Although she does still leave out parts of the sentence, "Mama, what doing?" and "Look Daddy, I do my own selfs". Everything seems to be plural or end in a y.

We are finally feeling better, getting back to the gym, meeting with our moms/keiki group and just getting out of the house. Kalia has been riding her tricycle. She rode down the whole street yesterday, but still likes to get off and push it around. Or push her imaginery "baby" on it. Although yesterday she was pushing "Daddy" in her baby stroller around the house. Maybe Erik's right, we've been stuck inside too long!

Kalia has been calling me "mommy" the last few days and I don't know if I like it. I miss "mama", but I guess it will be like the infant insert in her carseat and sling in her baby bath, it's sad, but I'll eventually get over the loss.
