windmills- sunday

Early Sunday morning,
back to the beach to collect wood

Morning rainbow

It was low tide in the morning
and the pool was perfect!

Look how big Maya looks!

Here they come!

Then we hiked up the beach
and found this great climbing tree.

where's kalia?
can you see her?

We had such a great time camping and just feeling so lucky to live so close (15 minute drive) from this amazing spot.  We were absolutely exhausted- there were several wake-ups during the night.  And I know this is impossible, but I think maybe I'm getting old, because my back was killing me the next day.  The ground is hard!

This post was made possible by the fact that Maya is home sick with a stomach bug.  Otherwise, I would be at work right now.

hanging out, getting ready for s'mores

We had super fun day, the butlers came to play for a bit.  Then Tanner and Catherine came by and the girls had so much fun playing with them!  Then we had fun cooking hot dogs and roasting marshmallows.  We did get briefly rained on, but saw the clouds coming and jumped in the tent just in time.  The girls had so much fun. Initially Maya was a little concerned about getting all dirty and wet, but then Kalia told her, "We're at the beach, we're gonna get dirty and wet".  Then it was all good and they were absolutely filthy and loving it!  They both were great wood collectors and luckily the beach was filled with drift wood.  They made circles going back and forth to the beach to get wood- this lasted most of the afternoon.

last sunday

Sunday we did the Kapalua hike to the duck pond.
Kalia charged and walked the whole thing,
Maya did not.  In fact, she practically refused to come
out of the stroller.  But we made it to the duck pond!
The ducks were fairly aggressive and so were the fish.

Wait- is that Maya out of the stroller,
this is one of the few moments she was.
We took the very, very long way down
and it dumped rain on us.
Fun times!

After school on Tuesday and we were looking for something
for our new little niece.  We were only going to go down to
the beach and suddenly both girls are in the water fully clothed!
And then they had to go down to their undies.
Kalia was having fun body surfing the little waves
and Maya was trying to keep up.
The tourists were highly entertained.

last saturday

Last Saturday we headed up to Windmills,
the day was gorgeous and someone had left us a little pool.
I hadn't even brought enough towels- we don't normally get
in the water here.  But today we have a swimming pool!

The view from the pool

Maya says, "It's a sea cucumber, but you can't eat it."
