Last Sunday we went to Abby's birthday party and it was so much fun!
First of all- it was a party at her house, which is not the usual here on Maui, so I got to dress the girls up in their matchy dresses. Second, there was a rabbit named Marshmellow that Maya loved. Third, Jolie the clown was there to do face painting, magic and balloon animals- the girls had a blast. Santa had brought Abby this cute little play house and Maya was totally occupied.

Kalia getting a butterfly painted on her arm, it actually took her a little while to decide that yes, she wanted to get something done. It took a bit to get used to seeing Jolie...
It took Maya a half second to decide that she would get something painted on her arm (after Kalia got hers). Jolie asked if she wanted a butterfly also or did she want a flower, Maya thought about it and decided that she would have a flower.
Watching the magic show- Kalia was totally into it. At times, she had the biggest smile on her face and all the kids were totally engrossed. Maya sat for a long time next to Kalia. Kalia sat down first and I told Maya to go and sit with her (of course she did) and it was funny because Deveraux was sitting next to Kalia and since Maya was trying to sit next to Kalia, she sat on Deveraux's lap twice trying to "sit next to Kalia", finally Kalia told her to sit on the other side of her:)
Group shot, this was after the show, Maya was actually cruising around trying on the Monster masks (oh, this was a Strawberry Monster Party) and then decided she would go join Kalia again. They are so cute!
Kalia was given this princess paint set for Christmas by Celena's kids
and she has been waiting to paint it.

Thursday was a rainy day and so we occupied ourselves with many crafts,
games and eventually a tent city. Oh, but I did finally realize that we could put on pandora.com and listen to a great variety of songs for them. Some songs had one or more of us laughing.

We set up a "living room" in between their tents for a tea party, here Maya is making sure that Mickey Mouse is comfortable and fed- such a good hostess!
We did get out of the house- ran up the hill to go to the grassy area for hide and go seek, chase and roll down the hill.
The girls played enough that day I was able to make a celebration flag banner. I've been seeing these at parties lately - used my scraps to make a very eclectic banner to put up in the honorees room the week of the birthday and use at b-day parties.
This week it's in our room - it's Erik's b-day on Monday:)
So we've been on a serious pancake kick- well, I should say that Kalia is on a seriously pancake kick. I have a set of 3 pancake molds and Kalia always has the pig and Maya always has the sheep. The other morning I was discussing with Kalia that Papa (erik's dad) is coming on Monday and that he could have the cow pancake, since the pig and sheep are taken and she said, "but papa should have a horse".
