easter 2010

OK, I was wrong it was an Metropolitan Museum of Art ABC Book, here's some Apples Kalia drew, she also drew some Boats and a Cat.
Saturday morning, I left the house as soon as Maya woke up to do some Easter shopping on the otherside. Erik took this photo just after Kalia woke up - Maya cuddling her sister during milk/morning show.

Easter Morning
We skipped the Ritz egg hunt for family time - so worth it!

Outside hunt for real eggs.
Inside hunt first thing was for the treat filled eggs.
Who's gonna get this one?

Watching Kalia.
At one point Kalia had 1 more egg to find and Erik was holding Maya, Maya wriggled down and went right over to the egg hidden in the carrots and picked it up and put it in her basket.
Eggs where are you?

We had a nice mellow Easter. The day before Kalia picked carrots from our bonzai carrot plant for the Easter Bunny (Erik's idea). We colored eggs, although Kalia did more directing than coloring. Erik used the extra egg dye to do a tie dye easter shirt. We had a really relaxing Easter day, I tried out my new mini muffin pan and made mini corn bread muffins with bacon & cheese. Then some mini frittatas with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes (thanks mom for leaving the sun dried tomatoes). There's just something fun about eating minis for breakfast/brunch. We thought about going to the Ritz egg hunt, but couldn't motivate to get out of our PJs and just had a fun family day at home.

Kalia and I have been doing puzzles again. Even though it's hard with Maya (and getting harder by the day) we've been moving everything to higher ground - the dining room table.

So even though I usually just put Maya in onesies since she's such my active/climber girl, she actually has been wanting to wear dresses like her sister. She nearly fought Kalia over her pink tutu skirt this morning, so I got out her white one and she was happy as can be. I put her in a cute little polka dot dress the other day and she patted her dress and had the biggest smile on her face. I just wasn't expecting her to have such an opinion on what she wears!
